What You’ll Need - Serves 3-4

  • 500g cleaned calamari and tentacles

  • 1 cup cake flour

  • 1/2 cup corn flour

  • 1 Lemon

  • Vegetable or Canola oil for deep frying

  • Salt & Pepper

Prep - 20 Minutes

  • If you have calamari tubes, cut them in half or thirds depending on how big they are for quicker and more even cooking.

  • Season the Calamari with salt and pepper. Combine and allow to marinade for 15 Minutes.

  • Place the cake flour and corn flour in a bowl and season generously with salt and pepper.

  • Place the calamari in the flour and coat evenly. Allow it to sit in the flour while heating up your oil for deep frying.

Let’s Get Cooking - 10 Minutes

  • Heat enough oil in a pan or sauce pan/pot to deep fry the Calamari.

  • Once the oil is hot, add the calamari a batch at a time to make sure they cook evenly.

  • The Calamari takes no more than 2 minutes to cook so you just want to fry these until the coating is golden brown.

  • Drizzle some flaky salt over the cooked calamari and squeeze lemon juice over them.

  • Serve with an aioli dip and enjoy.
